showroom success for knights’ trail

Thursday 13th April saw the excitement of the upcoming Lincoln Knights’ Trail come to the Cook & Sleep showroom!

In advance of the main event taking place 20th May to 3rd September, the Nomad Trust Knight- sponsored by Arora Marketing- came to Navenby for one day only, on show for visitors in the Urban Angels hair salon.

Here in the showroom we added to the fun by hosting a Mini Knights’ Trail, a Design your own Knight competition and some Knight jigsaws for the kids to put together!

For the Mini Trail the kids had to find ten Knights hidden around the showroom,  then answer three questions related to the official Knights’ Trail.

The three lucky winners of the Mini Knights’ Trail were, Matthew Bushell, Izzy Lesinski and Henry Ormbsy.

The event was educational as well as fun, with display boards informing kids and parents alike about some of Lincoln’s fascinating history! The Knights’ Trail marks England’s victory at the Battle of Lincoln 800 years ago, along with the sealing of the Charter of the Forest.

The Battle of Lincoln took place amidst the First Baron’s War – a civil war raging through England from 1215-1217. Prince Louis of France had joined forces with some rebellious English Barons to make war on England. If the English Royalists had not been victorious at Lincoln Castle then the course of history could have been very different; England would have become part of France and our king would have been Louis VIII rather than Henry III!

The day was brilliant fun with the kids thoroughly enjoying themselves! Don’t miss out on the main event later in the year!

Thanks to Arora Marketing and the Nomad Trust and of course everyone that came to support us on the day. To find out more about the main event visit: The Lincoln Knights’ Trail
